Weak of Thanksgiving

This is pretty much what our week looked like in Georgia. Well, this, and Ace coughing until he puked...and a lot of crying and not a lot of eating or sleeping. Poor boy felt so crummy, and as has always been the case, was sick the whole time we were at Abby and Derrik's. We didn't even get to see our Harbins! :( But I am so thankful that we did get to see our fave pediatrician. AND that the receptionist didn't see that we had new(read: NO) insurance so we got in and out of the office in two miserable hours, but for free! And the best part of it all?! Ace's ears were looking PERFECT(just search ear infections in the top left search box...that's quite a miracle)!!

He was excruciatingly pitiful, but he was uncharacteristically lethargic and snuggly, as a result. It was a hard week, especially being away from Mace, but we survived and it was a little empowering for me in the end!

Thanksgiving 2009

This year, we got to have a meal with Mace's grandparents, parents, and brother, AND a lot of my family.  It's weird having less people than we used to, due to marriages and such, but it was special and wonderful to be with family just the same!  Hate that we didn't get to see the Floyds, but we are hoping to on our next trip to GA.   I took no pictures all day until dinner at my mom's...of course!

Mace drove from Kentucky Wednesday night and then had to go back Thursday after dinner...Thank you, babe for wearing yourself out and driving 12 + hours in 24 so that we could spend Thanksgiving with you!

in which we showcase the babe, foregoing our spotlight

at least Mace and I can be seen in this one...Ace was ready for Eebop's crescent rolls and Dede's carrots!

We had a LOT of great food...thanks everyone for cooking!  That was pretty much the first day Ace had eaten since Saturday because he had a horrible cough and nasty cold, and he pretty much ate his weight in cooked carrots and bread.  What?!  Oh, he did have a little ham, though.  So I guess he's not much of a holiday foodie...it was a fun and exhausting day!

First (Walking) Halloween

Halloween in Kentucky was chilly and rainy and I was on day three of a migraine that max doses of ibuprofen, sudafed 12-hour, and darvocet were barely touching.  Not much motivation to trick-or-treat with 19 month old wild-man.  BUT, we had found the perfect costume for the boy who loves all things Cars and I had spent a little time tweaking the costume so it would be less lame(the darn thing was so flimsy...can't have a flimsy car), so we bundled up the way every good Georgian does...in fleece, pullovers, and flip-flops, and headed out into the 'hood for a few goodies.

boy knows how to wear a hat

pre-costume prep=dawh-dawh snuggling

pushing his doggie in the box...fascinating

The "Great" Pumpkin(s) '09

Last year we went perfect-pumpkin-hunting with our dear friends John, Kara, and June.  I cannot believe how much our babes have grown in a year!

So sweet...we miss this gal(and her parents and sibling in utero) so much!

This year Mace, Ace and I were hoping to go to a farm here in Kentucky to pick apples and find a pumpkin at their patch, but it never worked out so we went to a church we had passed on Sunday that was selling pumpkins.  We got Ace two pumpkins for less than two bucks and this "pumpkin patch" was only 10 minutes from the house.  Winner!

He pretty much touched every pumpkin we walked past

They were wet on the bottom...he's saying, "eeeew"

Off to find the perfect punkin
