this post was probably better the first, second, or third time I attempted it...

Six years ago today, our family(the John Martin, Jr. fam and their loves) members' lives were forever changed, as we each took on a new identity.  For me, it was an aunt.  And I have loved EVERY minute of it!!  It's the next best thing to being a mom, in my book.  I adore all of my nephews and my princess of a niece, but the first will always be...the first.

 and oh, how blessed I am that THIS is the literal bundle of joy who made me an aunt!

he's genuine, the apple of our eyes, compassionate, cautious, caring, determined, best laugh EVER, easy to love, helpful, and a thoughtful soul.  And seriously, has he ever met anyone he wouldn't befriend?!

We love you, Joshua Evan.  Our lives are fuller and more fun with you in them.  You will (because you are)make us better people and you will make the world a better place.

oh, and Ace?  sometimes, just sometimes, he likes his space(like first thing in the morning when you have a saggy wet diaper...).
