What Just Happened?

Are you new here(not likely, I realize)?  Or just trying to piece together our lives over the past year or so?  Or maybe you're just an innocent blog stalker who happened upon this post.  Well, here is a short summary of our lives over the past year...or so.  Oh, and there are no pictures in this post.  Consider yourself warned.

Basically, every part of our lives was in shambles and dying when we decided we needed a fresh start in every sense of the word and moved to KY last summer and move in with my in-laws on August 1. So much growth and renewal and refreshment and healing happened while we were there- went to Southland Christian Church- do you know it?  You should.  Anyway, built some amazing friendships, got a lot of quality family o' three time, and Mace and I really started enjoying each other again. By about the first of this year it became clear Mace's mom and stepdad were headed for divorce and we decided that once we saw his mom through this painful, wearying and roller coaster of a time, we would move back to GA.  Well, Mace had his old job waiting for him, so he came back on Feb 15 and bunked with my fab little sis and her hubs for what we thought would be at MOST 3 weeks...and we moved into a townhouse with Mace's mom finally on June 10 (HaHA, quite a lesson in endurance, perseverance and patience for us all!)!  We decided that Ace and I would stay with Karen, my mother in-law, while we found a place to live in GA, as long as it was healthy for us to stay (as Mace's mom lived in the same house with her now ex-husband throughout the entire process).  Living situation searching was so much harder and draining and lengthy than we had anticipated and obviously dragged on...and on.  Oh, and we found out I was pregnant before the end of February...yikes!

After some nastiness directed at Ace and me reared its head, (nothing dramatic, just the usual threatening to kick us out onto the curb, and placing blame of the dissolution of marriage on Ace...no big deal), Mace and my mom decided that Ace and I should stay at my parents' house about an hour south of Atlanta until we found somewhere to live.  We thought for sure our new place would show up on our radar within a couple weeks at best.  That was Easter.

We loved the time we spent at my parents.  Especially Ace.  He adores his aunts and uncles and grandparents...especially one on one.  And we ended up being at their place the entire time my oldest brother and his fam were there.  We got to see two proms, a dance recital, celebrate 4 birthdays, attend honor's day, a sports banquet, baccalaureate, and two graduations...and I'm pretty sure I've missed some things, haha!  It was busy and so much fun!  AMAZING memories full of love and hugs and kisses and even some GREEN EGGS and ham...minus the ham!

It took a few weeks once we applied for this townhouse for the owner to get back to us, but when we got the news it was glorious.  Oh, it was a good, good day!  Looking back, I'm so grateful that it took so long to find a place, because this place is perfect for us and our family and the timing really was perfect...hm.  We love it here.   We feel so blessed and so lucky to be where we are having experienced what we have experienced and to have been through all we have been through.  Heard Chris Tomlin's song, "Our God is Greater," today and I can't let go of the line "out of the ashes we rise."  That's how we feel...and are so hopeful and encouraged about what is to come.
